In August, we found 68 new businesses serving froyo in 27 countries, compared to 59 new businesses in 28 countries that serve froyo in July. The United States had the most openings for the third consecutive month, with twelve, followed by Indonesia with nine, and a tie between the Philippines and Australia, with six apiece.
As for the chain with the most openings, J CO opened five new branches, followed by Sour Sally with four and Pinkberry with four. Llaollao opened two new branches. Yo-Chi opened its first branch outside of Australia in Singapore.
Sadly, we also found seven froyo shop closings. Two of the shops have already reopened at new locations, and the other plans to move.
