We’ve been tracking new froyo (& froyo alternative) flavors introduced at froyo shops all year and looking for flavor trends in 2025.
This year, we found 88 new froyo and froyo alternative flavors introduced by froyo shops. Last year, we found 53 new froyo and froyo alternative flavors. While this is quite a jump in new flavors, the increase is mostly due to the addition of MYKA Greek, which introduced two new flavors a month in 2025. Without considering MKYA, we found 63 new froyo and froyo alternative flavors in 2025.
MYKA had the most new flavor introductions with 24. Menchie’s was second with twelve. In 2024, Menchie’s and 16 Handles had the most new flavor introductions, with nine.
We’ve organized the flavors alphabetically by shop name. The flavors are listed within each shop by the date of introduction, from earliest to latest.

Froyo vs. Froyo Alternatives
In 2025, dairy-based frozen yogurt flavors accounted for 71% of the new 2025 flavors, compared to 75% of new flavors in 2024.
Of the non-froyo new flavors introduced in 2025, there were six vegan flavors made with milk alternatives (7% of new flavors), 18 sorbet flavors (21% of new flavors), and one ice cream flavor (1% of new flavors). For the non-froyo new flavors in 2024, we found eight new vegan (not sorbet) flavors (15% of new flavors), four new sorbet flavors (8% of new flavors), and one new ice cream flavor (2% of new flavors).
Dairy-based froyo flavors continue to dominate. The rise in new sorbet flavors can be accounted for by MYKA, which introduced 12 new sorbet flavors in 2025.
Specific Flavor Trends
We also looked at which flavor types were the most popular in 2025. The dominance of fruit flavors continued, with 48 of the 87 new flavors in 2025 including a fruit flavor (55% of new flavors in 2025 vs. 46% of new flavors in 2024). Interestingly, fruit combination flavors (flavors that include more than one fruit) accounted for 21% of new flavors in 2025 or 38% of all new fruit flavors.
Baked goods were the next most popular type of flavor, accounting for 13% of new flavors in 2025 (vs. 17% in 2024), followed by chocolate (9% of new flavors in 2025 vs. 15% of new flavors in 2024).
Some new flavor types emerged, including three Indian flavors, nostalgic flavors (e.g., Shirley Temple, Fruity Cereal), and mystery flavors (e.g., White Mystery Froyo Heads, Razzle Dazzle sorbet, Blue Moon froyo). Of the chains, 16 Handles continued to introduce the most creative flavors. It launched Dubai Chocolate yogurt in April, over half a year before Menchie’s version was introduced.
