In August, we found 68 new businesses serving froyo in 27 countries, compared to 59 new businesses in 28 countries that serve froyo in July. The United States had the most openings for the third consecutive month, with twelve, followed by Indonesia with nine, and a tie between the Philippines and Australia, with six apiece.

June Froyo Openings and Closings
Froyo activity was even hotter in June than in May. We found 60 new businesses serving froyo (including froyo shops and businesses that serve froyo but are not primarily froyo shops) in 25 countries, compared to 57 new businesses in 22 countries serving froyo in May.

Froyo activity picked up in May, after slowing down in April. We found 58 new businesses in 22 countries serving froyo in May, compared to 45 new froyo businesses in 22 countries in April. The Philippines had the most openings again, with ten, followed by the United States with eight, and Australia with six.

Froyo activity slowed a bit in April. We found 45 new froyo businesses in 22 countries in April, compared to 56 new froyo businesses in 19 countries in March. The Philippines had the most openings again, with seven, followed by Mexico with six, and Malaysia with four.

Froyo activity in March followed a similar pattern to what we saw in February. We found 55 new froyo businesses in 19 countries in March, compared to 50 new froyo businesses in 24 countries in February. The Philippines had the most openings with fourteen, followed by the United States with eight, and Indonesia with six. The Philippines also had the most openings in February, with the US and Indonesia tying for second place.

While February is a short month, froyo activity has picked up. We found 47 new froyo shops in 24 countries, compared to 40 new froyo shops in 16 countries in January.
There was a three-way tie for the country with the most openings. Indonesia, the Philippines, and the United States had five openings each.

2024 Froyo Openings by Country
In 2024, we found 680 new businesses that serve froyo in 55 countries. The most openings occurred in Asia, which accounted for 54% of the new openings, followed by North America with 21%, and Europe with 10%. Here’s the breakdown by country.
December Froyo Shop Openings and Closings
In December 2024, we found 53 new businesses serving froyo representing 24 countries. This was very similar to November 2024, when we found 52 new froyo businesses in 22 countries. The most openings occurred in Australia, with eleven, which isn’t surprising considering that the Australian summer runs from December to February. Indonesia had the second most openings, with six, followed by the Philippines with five.
