Panama is in Central America, on the isthmus connecting North and South America. It is known for the Panama Canal, tropical rainforests, biodiversity, and its islands and beaches. Considered upper-middle income, the economy is based primarily on tourism and the service industry. The population in 2025 is approximately 4.558 million. The largest city by population is the capital city, Panama City (1,756 million). The next largest cities by population are Colón (241,817), David (193,350), and La Chorrera (190,093).
We found eighteen current froyo shops. Yogen Fruz is the leading froyo brand in Panama. It currently has fourteen outlets in Panama. These branches all opened in 2022 or later. Three opened this month. We believe that there were older Yogen Fruz branches in Panama, with the earliest one opening in 2009, but that these have closed. Yogen Fruz branches are counter-serve, and most are open inside shopping malls.
Pinkberry opened its first branch in Panama in 2015 at Costa Del Este. It currently has three branches. The first branch is still open. Pinkberry is coming soon to Tocumen.
We found sixteen closed froyo shops. Most were in Panama City and opened between 2012 – 2015. There were a few international chains like Forever Yogurt and Smooy. Except for Yogen Fruz, the closed froyo shops were self-serve.

- Freshii, Avenida Ricardo Arango 79 Plaza Penta, Local 003, Panama City, is part of the Canadian-based franchise. The fast casual eatery serves healthy wraps and bowls and froyo. It may have opened in 2015.
- Pinkberry, XFGH+9J9, Av. Vasco Nuñez de Balboa, Panamá, Provincia de Panamá, opened in 2015. This was the first branch in Panama.

- Bariloche, Marbella, local 7 Galerias Mar Plaza, Panama City, was a froyo shop that opened in 2012 and closed in 2016. The froyo was self-serve. They added pizza later.
- Berry Fit, Antes de Cafe Duran, Av Manuel Espinosa Batista con Av Transísmica Junto a la UMECIT, Panamá, Provincia de Panamá. The last IG and FB posts were in 2023. The current status is unknown.
- Forever Yogurt, C. 1a Oeste, Panamá, Provincia de Panamá, was a self-serve froyo chain based in the United States, which may have been open from 2014 – 2018.
- Forever Yogurt, Avenida de la Rotonda, Ocean Mall, Panama City, may have opened in 2014 and closed in 2019.
- Frozen House, Calle Central, David, opened on December 23, 2016, and closed in 2020. The frozen yogurt was counter-serve.
- FrozenUp, XFQW+VJP, Panama City, Panamá Province, was a self-serve froyo shop that may have opened in 2014 and closed in 2015.
- Guavaberry Yogurt Cafe, Calle 66 E (Cl 50), Panama City, was a self-serve froyo shop that opened in 2012 or 2013 and added pizza in 2016. It may have closed in 2016. The frozen yogurt was non-fat, kosher, and organic.
- Guavaberry Yogurt Café, XCFW+QXJ, Panama City, was a froyo kiosk inside Albrook Mall in Panama City. It may have opened in 2016.
- Smooy, Calle Boulevard Costa del Este, Panama City, may have opened in 2017 and closed in 2018. It was part of the Spanish counter-serve franchise.

- Yup, Transístmica, San Miguelito, Provincia de Panamá, opened in the Los Andes Mall in 2015.
Llaollao had plans to open in Panama, but we were not able to find evidence that the shop opened.
