Frozen yogurt is experiencing a resurgence in Lebanon despite a devastating financial and political crisis that included the shrinking of the GDP by 40% between 2018 – 2023, a currency depreciation of 95%, an annual inflation rate of over 200%, Israeli airstrikes, and an invasion by Israel in October 2024. Three out of four Lebanese are now living below the poverty line. The operating environment for businesses remains challenging.
The current population is estimated to be 5.806 million in 2024; 95% of the population is Arab. The largest city is the capital, Beirut, with a population of 1.916 million, followed by Ra’s Bayrut (1.251 million), Tripoli (229,398), Sidon (163,554), and Tyre (135,204). The country is bordered by Syria to the north and Israel to the south.
Tourism has been a significant part of the Lebanese economy. The country has many beach resorts along its Mediterranean coast. The frozen yogurt kiosks at these resorts are only open during the summer. This makes it difficult to count the number of frozen yogurt businesses, so we’ve chosen to count the non-pop-up/seasonal businesses. However, we do list the frozen yogurt pop-ups that we found as well.
We found 40 businesses that serve frozen yogurt in Lebanon and are not seasonal pop-ups. Of the 40, Stories Coffee, accounts for 50%, 23% are froyo shops, and the remainder are cafes and restaurants. Stories Coffee offers frozen yogurt at all of its locations.
Most of the current frozen yogurt shops in Lebanon opened between 2023 – 2025. All the frozen yogurt is counter-serve.
We found 24 businesses that served frozen yogurt (not seasonal pop-ups) and closed. The first wave of froyo in Lebanon started in 2011 with the opening of Pinkberry at ABC Achrafieh Mall in Beirut. Pinkberry branches continued to open, reaching ten branches in Lebanon. Self-serve froyo made a brief appearance when Yeh!, the Canadian self-serve froyo franchise, opened in 2014, followed by another Canadian self-serve froyo franchise, Yogurt Spoon, which opened in 2015.
Ten Pinkberry stores closed in 2020 due to the economic crisis in Lebanon that began in late 2019. Fortunately, Pinkberry returned in September 2024, reopening at ABC Achrafieh. It now has five branches in Lebanon, including two that opened in August 2025.
As for future froyo shops, Two has announced plans to open a main branch in Beirut.
Current Places to Get Froyo
- Acai Shop, Dam w Farez, is an acai shop that opened in 2024. Soft serve froyo is also offered.
- Deli Dough, RJ65+R72, Aley, is a restaurant that opened in 2024. It added soft serve frozen yogurt in 2025.
- Donia, 56 Alameddine, Beirut, is a French pastry and coffee shop that also serves froyo. It opened in 2020.
- Em Sherif Deli, New Starco Building, Minet El-Hosn, opened in 2024. The eatery offers a variety of soft serve, including frozen yogurt.
- Flurky, XJXW+PGJ, Jounieh – Beirut Hwy, opened in late 2024 and is primarily a froyo shop.
- Frio, Kobayat Andaket main road, Akkar 1303, opened in August 2024 and is primarily a froyo shop.
- The Frozen Bean, Miziara Central Square, opened in 2024. The Frozen Bean is a froyo shop that also serves coffee and more.
- The Frozen Bean, Batroun Seaside Road, opened in January 2025.
- The Frozen Bean, Old Souq, Jounieh, opened in June 2025.
- Kahve and More, CRVH+75X facing Kookies Bakery and France Optique, Mina, is a coffee shop that opened in December 2024. It also serves froyo.
- Meat the Fish Mkhallissiye Street, Saifi Village is a restaurant and retail location. Meat the Fish started in 1996 importing smoked salmon into Lebanon, then evolved into a restaurant/market in Beirut. Other locations followed, including international locations in London, UK, and Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Meat the Fish, Marea, Batroun
- Noix Le Cafe, Street 903A, Batroun Centre, Batroun, Souk, was inspired by the cafes of Paris. The cafe serves coffee, pastries, and froyo. It opened 2023.
- Nosh Cafe, Amioun Kfarhazir Highway, North Lebanon, is a café that serves coffee and frozen yogurt. It opened in 2025 as a franchise of Two.
- Pinkberry, ABC Mall Achrafieh Beirut, opened in September 2024

Stories Coffee has 20 locations in Lebanon. The first opened in 2021. The coffee shop offers frozen yogurt at all locations. The locations are:

- Yeh Frozen Yogurt, Burj El Murr, Kantari, was the first Yeh outlet to open in Beirut in late 2014. It was an outpost of the Canadian self-serve frozen yogurt chain that started in Montreal. Yeh also served waffles, pancakes, and crepes.
- Yeh Frozen Yogurt, Beirut Souks opened in 2015. Both locations had closed by 2018. The last IG post was made in 2018.
- Yogurt Spoon was also a Canadian self-serve frozen yogurt concept that opened in Beirut in 2015. The last IG post was in 2022
